Concrete Services
Beyond flatwork, we handle the masonry that island properties depend on: hollow tile block walls, retaining walls, repair, restoration, and demolition, from one crew that does both the block and the concrete.
What's included
CMU walls for property lines, privacy, and yard structure, laid straight, grouted solid where it counts, and capped clean.
Engineered block retaining walls for Oahu's sloped lots, with the drainage behind the wall that keeps them standing.
Spalled steps, cracked slabs, and worn surfaces repaired or resurfaced honestly, or replaced when repair is throwing money away.
Old slabs, walls, and footings broken out and hauled off, leaving the site ready for whatever comes next.
Concrete and block steps built to code heights, with masonry cheek walls and finishes that match the house.
Patio plus seat wall, driveway plus retaining wall, slab plus block building. One estimate, one crew, one schedule.
Our Process
We look at grades, soil, and what the wall or repair actually has to do, then give you a clear free estimate.
Every wall we build starts with a proper reinforced footing sized for the wall above it. Walls fail from the bottom, so that is where the money goes.
Hollow tile laid in line and level, vertical steel where the design calls for it, and cells grouted so the wall acts as one piece.
Gravel backfill and weep paths so water pressure never builds up behind the wall. This is the step that gets skipped on failing walls.
Caps, finishes, and a clean site. Demolition jobs end with the debris gone, not stacked in your yard.
Built for the island
Hollow tile is the backbone of Hawaii residential construction, and for good reason: it shrugs off termites, salt air, and sun that eat other materials. From Waianae to Kailua, block walls define lots, hold back slopes, and give yards privacy that lasts.
Retaining walls are their own discipline. Leeward and Pearl City hillsides put real pressure on walls, especially when seasonal rain saturates the slope. We build with proper footings, steel, grout, and drainage, because a retaining wall is only impressive if it is still straight in twenty years.

FAQ
Hollow tile is the local name for concrete masonry block, the gray block walls you see across Hawaii. It is the standard here because it stands up to termites, moisture, and sun far better than wood fencing.
Yes, sloped lots are exactly where we build most retaining walls. The keys are a correctly sized footing, steel and grout through the block, and drainage behind the wall so water pressure cannot push it over time.
If the damage is surface-level and the slab underneath is sound, repair or resurfacing can make sense. If the concrete is settled, badly cracked, or failing from below, replacement is usually the honest answer. We will tell you which one you are looking at.
Yes. We break out old concrete and block, load it, and haul it off as part of the job. Most of our replacement projects include full removal, so the new work starts on a clean site.
Walls over certain heights and most retaining walls need a permit from the City and County of Honolulu. Requirements depend on height and what the wall holds back, and we will walk you through what your project needs.
Usually yes. Standard hollow tile sizes and common cap styles make close matches possible on most walls, and paint or finish coats blend the rest. We look at the existing work at the estimate and tell you exactly how close the match will get.
